Is a PhD Scientist, Gracie Jiu-Jitsu instructor and the original program director for our Youth Bully Prevention and Kids BJJ classes at the Calvert MMA Academy - Lineage BJJ in Sunderland, Maryland. Coach Mike Tran has been training Gracie Jiu-Jitsu since 1995 and previously was the head instructor of the youth program at the Gracie Colorado Academy in Boulder before moving to Maryland. Coach Mike Tran's is a favorite among the parents and children in our youth program.
Every School of Rock bass instructor is a practicing musician in Silver Spring and teaches bass lessons for kids that get great results. Beginners learn to play bass guitar by using popular rock songs that illustrate key concepts and techniques. Funky Chicken is the 1970 album from Willie Henderson and the Soul Explosions. As evident by the name, it is infinitely danceable from the moment you press play. The band’s potent blend of soul and bayou funk makes for a very exuberant-sounding record, where the grooves are endless. The record was initially released on the legendary Brunswick Records, famous for signing such artists as Jackie Wilson and The Chi-Lites.

That’s why at School of Rock Silver Spring, our drum lessons are customized for each student and his or her goals. The School of Rock Silver Spring House Band music program gives students under 18 the opportunity to join a gigging band composed of fellow musicians from their school.

The Resident Camp also offers a CIT program where teens who have completed 10th- 11th grade choose two weeks during the summer for their training. One week is spent working in the kitchen for half the day and the other half helping with programming for younger campers. The other week is spent in the cabin with campers and full time staff to really get a feel for what it is like to be counselor.

Our music school takes learning and fun to the next level, combining private lessons with band sessions. Students learn the songs they love, let loose with peer jam sessions, and even get a chance to perform live! Through our programs, expert and beginner players alike can build core music skills.
The enhanced portion of the album contains a music video for each song. Group Therapy shows the band expanding on the more alternative metal style music the band had started on their previous album, Life, and most of the The Music Dept Recording Studio industrial style music has been toned down. The album contains some of the band's most heavy and aggressive songs while certain songs such as "Sing", "Another Day Goes By" and "Easier" show a softer, more melodic sound.

All students in the Performance Program have the opportunity to audition for a spot in School of Rock Silver Spring's House Band. Once selected, House Band members become leaders in their School of Rock community and perform live shows at MD rock venues throughout the year. Our Songwriting program for kids and teens teaches the fundamentals of songwriting, arrangement and music theory, and helps students compose original works. At School of Rock Silver Spring, songwriting students receive one weekly private lesson where they learn concepts, technique and theory on an instrument of their choice.
Some of the health plans that the state of West Virginia offers its employees do cover transition-related care, but others don’t.
