Once we  entered Taitung, we cycled 20km clockwise to eat and shop before returning our bikes . As we cycle from Highway 11, we will reach 台東森林公園活水湖 in Taitung. The mochi are fresh made, it only last for 24hrs, but after few hour especially summer day the mochi will become sticky and lost of flavor, finish it immediately rather keep it later or tomorrow are suggested. Disembark from the boat this afternoon and proceed to Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Monastery, the largest Buddhist monastery in Taiwan.
Most shops in Taitung can be found along neighboring Zhonghua, Datong and Zhengqi roads. These streets are lined with local shops and boutiques selling everything from local crafts, souvenirs, accessories and snacks. Sightseers looking for the perfect souvenir to take home should consider a local snack like sweet potato chips or a dessert flavored with roselle berries or lily petals.
